Pool

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!  Our club's pool  finally opened.  I love it. There is a serious bad memory which I may have gone into so to aviod looking stupid I will check before I go into detail.  There is this awsome diving board which I am a little scared of which I have already told you about or I will tell you.  (Bad memory has to deal with the diving board.)  The pool also has these awsome lawn chairs for resting and tanning during the breaks.  Luckly the breaks are only 10min apart.  Pool time is 50min.  So that means the ratio for pool time to break time is 50:10!  Sorry nerd momment!

Doctor Who

Hey internet surfers!  I am watching one of the best television shows in the entire world.  Doctor Who!  It is about a Time Traveler called The Doctor.  He is from another planet.  Called Galifrea.  He is the last of his kind.  The last of the Time Lords.  Which is what his people were called.  They all died in the last Time War against the Daleks.  His wife and children died.  He has two hearts!  When ever he dies he regenerates into a new form.  We all look like the Time Lords. (They came first you know!)  During the show he always has a human capanion.  Usually a girl.  In the newer seasons its always a girl sometimes with her boy friend.  It is awsome!

Homework

For a test in math we are having to do sums for homework.  With no calculator!  44 sums with no calculator.  Different intergers.  Spanish was boring.  We watched a video on Cinco de Mayo. 5th of May.  Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring.  Weh d to take notes on it to.  We never take notes in Spanish.  Of course we did have a sub.  Mrs. Calandella!  Of course we ,the students, call her Mrs. Calandracula.  We nearly hate her.  She gets mad over nothing.  In English we made a wordsearch; it was really fun.  Then we watched some powerpoint presentations.  Boring but no notes.  In Science I barley remembered what happened.  Social studies was boring but easy.  It was a simple worksheet.  Until next time byeas!

Play

I got a job at my school's spring play.  My job is a techie which I am glad to get.  Luckly there are only three techies so job sercurity.  Also I might be stage manager next year if the stage manager this year recomends me for the job.  The stage manager name is Hunter.  She is in 8th grade and nice but stern.  And she is awsome.  Today we were there for play practice and the actors kept forgetting thier lines.  They kept turning toward us excepting us to know thier lines.  Once they were in this group far from us rehearsing thier lines.  One actor turned toward Hunter and put his arms out expectantly.  Hunter was like; I don't know where you guys are, I can't hear you!  So funny!  I had a great time.

Flood

Right now in the east we are having a massive flood.  Thank fully I am safe and not in any danger at the moment.  However reports are coming in that we will have a ton more rain tonight and tommorow morning. My hopes and thoughts go out to those who are in danger. For instructions on what to do during a flood  please go to the following link.  http://www.fema.gov/hazard/flood/fl_during.shtm .

Chess

My favorite board game in this world is chess.  I was taught to play chess early in my life.  I'm not very good at chess but I love to play it.  In this article I will teach you some basices of chess.  Each chess piece has its own style of moving. Moves are made to vacant squares except when capturing an opponent's piece.

With the exception of the knight, pieces cannot jump over each other. When a piece is captured (or taken), the attacking piece replaces the enemy piece on its square (en passant being the only exception). The captured piece is thus removed from the game and may not be returned to play for the remainder of the game.[1] The king can be put in check but cannot be captured (see below).

The king can move exactly one square horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. At most once in every game, each king is allowed to make a special move, known as castling (see below).

The rook moves any number of vacant squares vertically or horizontally. It also is moved while castling.

The bishop moves any number of vacant squares in any diagonal direction.

The queen can move any number of vacant squares diagonally, horizontally, or vertically.

The knight moves to the nearest square not on the same rank, file, or diagonal. In other words, the knight moves two squares like the rook and then one square perpendicular to that. Its move is not blocked by other pieces, i.e. it leaps to the new square. The knight moves in an "L" or "7" shape (or either shape inverted) with two steps one direction, a 90° turn, and one step in the new direction.

Pawns have the most complex rules of movement:

A pawn can move forward one square, if that square is unoccupied. If it has not yet moved, the pawn has the option of moving two squares forward provided both squares in front of the pawn are unoccupied. A pawn cannot move backward.

Pawns are the only pieces that capture differently from how they move. They can capture an enemy piece on either of the two spaces adjacent to the space in front of them (i.e., the two squares diagonally in front of them) but cannot move to these spaces if they are vacant.

The pawn is also involved in the two special moves en passant and promotion (Schiller 2003:17–19). This information came from Wikipedia.  To see more go to wikipedia.org/wiki/Rules_of_chess .

Maggie

Hey Maggie you don't talk to me any more.  Is it something I did or said?  I'm really getting lonely all by myself.  Please talk to me.

Testing

Hey peoples of the blogging world.  For me statewide testing is finally over!  This year, in the 6th grade, we only had two subjects we tested on; reading and math.  Math is really my strong point; reading I'm good at but I am lacking in some areas.  Anyway I do great on standerdized testing.  So I'm looking forward to seeing the test results.
